Day 1 Bucharest
Meet and greet upon arrival at Bucharest Airport. Transfer to your Hotel. Check into Hotel by 1400hrs. Rest of the day free at leisure. Overnight at Hotel.
Day 2 Bucharest
Breakfast at Hotel. Today we proceed to Morning Guided City tour of Bucharest. Bucharest is known as the “Paris of the east” due its Parisian-style boulevards and belle époque buildings. View the Old Princely Court, the Royal Palace and visit the Palace of Parliament, the third largest building in the world. Afternoon free at leisure. Overnight at Hotel.
Day 3 Bucharest – Maldaresti
Breakfast at Hotel. Today morning we will travel to Curtea de Arge, the former capital of Wallachia, to view the Episcopal Church, the burial site of many Romanian kings. Then continue your journey to Horezu and visit Hurezi monastery. Renowned for its pottery and listed as a Unesco world heritage site. You will have ample of time will be given to visit one of the many ceramic shops in the city. Overnight at Hotel.
Day 4 Maldaresti – Avrig
Breakfast at hotel. Today we drive on the highest road in Romania and one of the most picturesque, the Transalpina. Arrive to the town of Sibiu for a visit to the Bruckenthal Art Gallery and a enjoy a Guided walking tour of this medieval town to view the main square, Liar’s bridge and the Evangelical Church. Overnight at Hotel.
Day 5 Avrig – Zalanpatak
Breakfast at hotel. In the morning, visit to Fagaras, a fortified village from the middle ages. Then continue to Bran to visit Dracula’s castle and then to Brasov. Here you will see one of the finest baroque squares in the country, Piata Sfatului, as well as the Black Church, which is the largest Gothic Church between Vienna and Istanbul and houses a collection of more than 300 Ottoman rugs. View St Nicholas’ Church and explore Romania’s first school. Overnight at hotel.
Day 6 Zalanpatak – Sighisoara
Breakfast at hotel. Today we will travel to Sighisoara, via Viscri, to visit Viscri’s fortified church. The village of Viscri is famous for the property here owned by the Prince of Wales, which help protect the unique way of life that has existed here for hundreds of years through the promotion of sustainable tourism. Continue to visit Sighisoara, a beautifully preserved medieval settlement and a Unesco world heritage site. The city walls encircle cobbled streets lined with colourful 16th-century burgher houses. Visits include the citadel, the Church on the Hill and the Clock Tower. Overnight at Hotel.
Day 7 Sighisoara – Cluj-Napoca
Breakfast at hotel. We proceed to Târgu Mure, to visit the Cultural Palace, a flamboyant, early 20th-century city hall with an outstanding stained glass hall, and the old fortress. Later we continue to Cluj-Napoca, which was formally a Dacian settlement. Overnight at Hotel.
Day 8 Cluj-Napoca
Breakfast at Hotel. Day free at leisure until departure transfer to Airport.
